LEGO Star Wars 7679 REPUBLIC FIGHTER TANK Review! (2008)

The LEGO Star Wars 7679 Republic Fighter Tank is from the golden era, part of the original LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars wave in Summer 2008. With 2 Clone Wars Clone Trooper Minifigures I feel we could've used a bit more but the Fighter Tank itself is a modern marvel. So many play features and functions built into this set for just $50 back in the day. I paid $270 for this so it has become rather expensive but for any LEGO Star Wars collector it's a great one to own.

Notice how they label them both as clone troopers even thought one can be technically different with the armor pieces, while in the 2020 AAT tank they label the droids as different even though there is literally nothing different about them.

The tanks commander is usually the guy that is sticking out of the top of the turret, so I imagine it is the same in Star Wars. Plus I can recall an episode of the clone wars where there is a battle droid commander sicking up out of the turret.

I always assumed the neon pieces on the side were exposed power conduits and that the pieces under the hatch represented the power core

I got mine for £70 without box. Condition was mint and better than I expected. The set is massive
