In this video, we delve into Jaguar's recent rebranding initiative, which has sparked significant controversy and debate. The luxury automaker unveiled a new logo and promotional campaign that notably omits any depiction of their vehicles, instead featuring models in avant-garde attire set against a surreal, Martian-like backdrop. This bold move has led to accusations of the brand abandoning its heritage and succumbing to so-called "woke" marketing strategies. High-profile figures, including Elon Musk and Nigel Farage, have publicly criticized the campaign, questioning its direction and relevance. Jaguar's managing director, Rawdon Glover, has defended the rebrand, stating it aims to differentiate the company in a competitive market and attract a younger, wealthier demographic. Despite the backlash, the promotional video has garnered over 160 million views, indicating widespread attention. Join us as we explore the implications of this rebranding effort and discuss whether Jaguar's attempt to "delete the ordinary" has resonated with its audience or alienated its loyal customer base.

Jaguar was already struggling to stay afloat as no one was buying their cars, didn't matter if it was ICE or EV. At least they are trying something different.

Still looks a lot better than the Cybertruck.

This image was leaked today, but it's a concept that will never see production.

That image looks like something a 10th grader would draw in his notebook during study hall.

If car companies want to do something different, they should take the designs from the 70s and 80s, like Empala or Gran Torino, and should make it a bit bigger and with modern engines and systems. That actually would be cool. Retro, instead of "futuristic". But no big company does it, all want their cars more and more look like rockets or fighter jets, or like NASA vehicles, and the result sometimes is very ugly 🤦‍♂️

Looks like Audi. But also, if you paint this thing dark grey with black rims, I would love it.

In the year 2024, it seems we have forgotten what a concept car is.

I don't get those line shape hyperbright LED lights, all they do is blind people.

I think they are trying to make a very small number of expensive cars for rich Gen Z influencers. Like 5k/year for $250k+ MSRP. That's $1.2B in revenue, making just a handful of cars.

The idea isn't to please you or me or anyone else, the idea is for rich people to have something unusual and attention-getting. They decided to replicate the polarization of the Cybertruck -- love it or hate it, at least people are talking about it.

I like the roofline (as impractical as it is), but the rest of it... not at all.

It really is ugly. Imo the cyber truck is even uglier, and the robo cab from Tesla, but it's the 3st ugliest car I saw the last years. Nobody can compete with the ugliness of Elmo Musk's cyber truck, but it's close 🤷‍♂️
