The City of McKinney historic downtown has earned the prestigious Cultural District Designation from the Texas Commission on the Arts for demonstrating the area’s art, events, activities and amenities that play a pivotal role in setting the downtown apart as a gathering place for commerce, companionship and culture.

The Cultural District Designation pays tribute to the experiences residents and guests alike encounter year-round in downtown McKinney. The district hosts over 300 events annually including the Oktoberfest and Arts in Bloom festivals, concerts at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, art exhibitions, historical walking tours and museums, farmers market and countless events at the various venues and businesses that call the district home.
