I do not know why did they put it cancel.

Well, if they want to watch, they will, people who doesn't want, they will not.I don't see the problem about that.

What about if Disney plans James Bond 3D.

I wish they put the original movies in three d but in the 1977 version not special edition

Watching something that was abysmal in 2D in 3D does not make it any less abysmal. In fact, 3D merely amplifies how crappy those films were. Who the hell wants to see Jar Jar in 3D, or Jake Lloyd (little Anakin) or Hayden Christensen's sorry excuse for acting in 3D?

Disney is smart not to re-release these. All that would do is taint their attempt to revitalize the franchise with the upcoming episode 7. Let Abrams have a fresh start, without being saddle with prequel baggage.

thank god release the originals fully restored in 3D instead

I was kind of hoping to see Episodes IV, V, and VI in theaters again, just because that's an experience someone in my generation wouldn't have unless they saw the Special Edition trilogy in theaters. I've got my fingers crossed that Disney will re-release the theatrical cut of the Original Trilogy though!

I hope that when Disney makes Episode VII as good as the other 6. I hope they don't ruin Star Wars

Fingers cross because Disney is to have Small Soldiers movie and plans a sequel for 2017 release.

I had the next few years planned out so I could see these 3d re releases. Now I have to re plan once I find out when they are gonna come out in 3d

Seriously? Might the reason people didn't want to go to Phantom Menace was because it was hated in 2D by fans of the franchise and 3D is expensive, these days (sad timing for 3D)? Didn't fans like the darker last two prequels? I think they'd be great in 3D, even if it's 3D adaption, as would the 3 original movies!

They will no doubt release them on Blu-ray 3D though, because the movies have already been converted into 3D. It would be a waste not to release them in 3D in some form.

Oh and the 1980 and 1983for the other two

Glad that these non 3D movies are going not to be converted into 3D. Just a stupid to get a little more money outta people.

Kudos to Disney on this move. I think this shows good faith to the star wars fan base by recognizing that the prequels were complete shit. Rereleasing ep II & III in theaters can only harm what few shreds of integrity the franchise has left. This news bolsters my faith in JJ and the new movies! Hoping they turn out good, with an expanded universe story line, but i'm not holding my breath.
