I remember the refs were initially so confused. After a long talk, picked up the flag and made the right call. No penalty for a double punt because the first punt did not cross the line of scrimmage.

That may be the most heads-up play by a punter ever. Never mind the fact that he scooped up that ball like a boss; he had enough presence of mind to kick it a 2nd time while he was behind the line of scrimmage. Had the ball crossed the line before he picked it up he wouldn't have been able to do this.

The job the near wing official did, revealed in other videos, was impressive too. First he had the neutral zone looking for encroachment, then he moved 2 yards down field, to the limit of where ineligible linemen could go downfield if the initial punt had crossed the neutral zone, then moved back to the initial defensive line of scrimmage and was in perfect position to rule on Dickson's JUST BARELY LEGAL second kick, wherein his back foot had not touched ground beyond the initial neutral zone before foot hit ball.

People already want to put him on a pedestal as the greatest punter ever. Consider these stats, 14 year career, 1, 049 punts, only three ever blocked, NEVER one returned for a TD, the first and ONLY punter in the Hall of Fame to this day, played in 207 consecutive games, also handled kickoffs the first five years of his career, was also his team’s emergency QB, annual award for the best collegiate kicker named after him. Damn I hated those Raiders but Ray Guy actually won games for them as a punter, and you have to give that man his props.

From the worst punt to one of the best with nothing but panicky energy. Id have just curled into a ball and cried after the block.

What I really enjoy is seeing the entire team keep their cool and continued to do their jobs. They never gave up on each other and the result speaks for itself.
