Usually the only course of action when a leaded window has blown is a rebuild or at the very least some saddle bars. In this video Sophie tries a different technique and instead applies a coating of solder to the wobbly lead.

Thanks for the informative and explorative video. Curious if you have had any updates on how the solder has held up over the past year since posting. cheers!

Very interesting. I look forward to hearing how it holds up. I assume it was flat lead came. Adding a bead of solder on top should stiffen it a lot. Especially since you did both sides.

Good job. I'll bet it will stiffen up that center section. Able to get some reinforcement under the came?

Great video Sophie - just wondering what type of brush you use for cleaning up the lead. We have a brass one here but worry that it might scratch the old Victorian glass in some windows we found.

Hi Sophie, i am wondering about why this was not re leaded to solve the problem and why not solder the tie wires instead of drilling the lead.

I love your videos! I’m just learning the craft and your channel has really helped.

I would like to know if this happened because of something in the design? Or is it completely unrelated and just happens sometimes?

Cheers from 🇲🇽
