Energizing Community Through Diversity: SarahSalguera at TEDxMuskegon

Diversity is a buzz work in our culture today, but it can mean many things to many people. Becoming diverse can feel overwhelming at times. How do we move with common purpose towards greater diversity in our communities?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I always say diversity is like a rainbow, if a rainbow was one color it would be pretty to see but I just don't see people stopping to take pictures of it. But because it's multi-color it's beautiful and people want to stop and take pictures. I believe the old saying when in Roma do as the Romas do. Same when you go to visit or live. One has to learn their culture since you made the decision to live there.
