The European Union poured cold water on a plea from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for immediate membership to the bloc for his country as Kyiv battled a Russian invasion. EU foreign policy chief said that any bid for membership could take a lot of years.

Surprising. Everyone is avoiding direct interference. And then some blame India for being neutral and absentee. They themselves cannot embrace their so called brother in desperate situating citing LONG PROCEDURES and what not excuses. They themselves safeguard their respective nation's interest first and avoid direct risks, which is understandable, but then too some blame India for sitting on a fence and prioritizing her national interest first. Sorry to say this... It's their own fault. And by their own fault I mean the current Ukrainian government, not the people. The government has been siding too much with NATO and the EU while ignoring Russia's initiatives for dialogue. Now that Russia has retaliated for being ignored, the Ukrainian government finds out that the EU and NATO are looking out for themselves, and not for them. Great wake-up call for them. It's sad that it has come to this for them to realize it.
