For the empty slot for ssd you mentioned, the cable comes with the laptop in the box, there is a little empty connection for the cable on the motherboard. I belive it's above the battery somewhere

My IdeaPad 3 15ALC6 came with a connector cable, SATA pattern socket & screws inside a plastic bag in the box, there's no description of what it's for but I believe it's the missing "bracket" that you describe in the video. I very much want to add a Samsung 960 EVO SSD I used in my old deceased laptop which already has a steam library loaded on it.
