This was another great video covering PPF and ceramic coatings. You have some of the best, non-biased, informative videos available. Your level of detail on detailing is remarkable. Thank you!

We have the front half of our Lexus and F150 Platinum PPFed and ceramic coated. Being in Colorado, rock chips are a big issue here and PPF makes a big difference, and we are happy with it. At the same time, I agree with everything you mentioned regarding PPF. PPF doesn’t eliminate rock chips. Even with ceramic coating over the PPF, the front edge of the hood has minor defects likely caused by bugs as you mention.

I have PPF on the front of my vehicle with a ceramic coating all over the vehicle and by far the areas with Xpel PPF are way easier to clean than the areas with just the coating. It also stays cleaner. This includes the front fenders too.

You said exactly what Yvan from DIY Detail Said!! Wheel coatings are all marketing and you don't need a wheel specific coating.

Magnificent car. Quick question: Do you wash your coating removal microfiber towels before using them?

Great Vid!
QUESTION: How soon after PPF install can ceramic coating be applied.
Is there a curing period for the PPF that a ceramic coating could interfere with?

I got caught off guard when putting on a ceramic coating in a hotter more humid garage than usual, and the flash time was like 5 times faster than I was used to. I’ll have to clean it up in the spring which I’m not looking forward to. The easier options to smooth it out didn’t work. At least there are only a couple of noticeable spots and only in certain lighting.

Every vehicle should have PPF under the door handles to protect from rings. However, with the trend to have retractable door handles this will someday be a moot point.

So would you recommend putting PPF on matte paint for more protection at least a track pack

When you buy a tesla, it is understandable that you will lose money or the car will depreciate more than other car brands. So in my humble opinion, protect your tesla with ppf and ceramic coating and keep it and enjoy the car until it dies. Thats my plan with my M3 highland long range RWD. Im enjoying the car so much! And hope it will last more than 10yrs so my 6yr old daughter can enjoy this techi car when she turns 16. 😊

Nice video. Would the same steps and products apply to a car with matt ppf?

In cases like the Cybertruck, is a vinyl wrap enough vs ppf, aesthetics aside, if you are trying to prevent the acidic stains you get from bugs etc on the steel, and from snow in the winter, with the road salt?

Do you ever ceramic coat the windows? Or would you just do a RainX every 6 months or so? I never see you do or talk about coating the windows.
Does ceramic coating a matte ppf mess with the look of the matte, especially with the amount that needs to go on?
