I wish people can appreciate both games as much as Reggie does. Everyone assumes everyone at Nintendo has forgotten about Melee, but in the new Smash, they still keep melees best stages in, brought back Mewtwo, and Reggie even sent a message just for the Melee tournament at EVO. sure, it may have been for marketing, but he's assuming Smash fans genuinely loved smash. not the competitiveness of it, or the techs. I personally just love to think of it as a tradition and love seeing my favorite video game characters fight each other. This community is AWFUL, because of how divided it is. the series deserves a better kind of passions than the one it gets now.
