I’m a runner and just switched to a AWU2 around launch time, upgrading from a AW Series 7. Battery life, while not Garmin, is great, I never think about it. I’m running 20-30mi a week and have never once had battery anxiety, as I did with my series 7, which started dying on my longer runs. My goal is start running ultras, and by my 40th birthday (5 years), qualify for, and finish Western States. I know that when the time comes, and my body is more ready for that, I’ll be using a Garmin, probably Fenix edition, mostly for the battery life. For now, I’m sticking with this AWU2 and couldn’t be more happy every time I take it out on a run.

I've been using the Epix Pro Gen 2 titanium 47mm since July 2023 and I love it! I used it and still use it a lot for hiking with the gpx uploaded on my watch for navigation. It's fantastic. This is my very 1st connected watch. I never had any other connected and/or smartwatch before. The connect app on my smartphone is also awesome!

I have been using the Epix 2 for a few years now. Still love it. I’m too embedded in the Garmin badges to switch platforms, lol.

Had them pretty much all at one point from Garmin FENIX to the Forunner 955… in my honest opinion…. Coros Pace 3 has all the Core Features you would need… only thing obviously it don’t have is Maps…. The latest updates with HRV, Stress tracking, fitness test and fitness form, Its own variation of Snapshot, New Heart Sensor for $230 bucks… seriously… Game Changer…. All other watch makers need to take notice instead adding features to the more expensive watches and leaving the lower end ones in the dust… Coros figured it out for the common athletic person to the most Elite….

I own a POLAR pacer pro, and Really love the look of it, on the hardware and the materials side, it feels very nice and robust. However, on the software side and especially on the UI side, it’s lacking and feels very 2018 ish especially when browsing the menus or in the integrated widget-apps.

Witch is a bit frustrating because I wish I could recommend POLAR to anyone but currently, I wouldn’t because of the things mentioned above and the fact that they still haven’t integrated some really basic, but yet crucial features, like customization for the watch faces, menus, more settings and a complete redesign of the watchs interface. Also, the possibility to have more than 4 information displayed while exercising, and a counter for sets while working out in the gym and much more little, but yet important aspects, that when pilled up, represents a step back regarding the competition.
it’s crazy to me that the polar pacer, for example, didn’t received any updates or new features since 2022.

POLAR could easily be among the best sport watch on the market, but they should prioritize the providing features and more frequent updates and UI improvement, rather than releasing new watch every years.

These reviews are beautifully put together! So much fun to watch. I switched from a Fenix to Epix 2 51mm in early December. Winters are dark and gloomy here, and the solar never really made much difference. I've used the Epix as an everyday watch, and have done a fair bit of Winter mountaineering this season, plus mountain rescue call outs. The display is crystal clear in horrible conditions (and kind of comforting!) And the mapping detail is really improved. It did take a while to get used to AMOLED gesture mode, though!

I bought Fenix 7 pro sapphire solar 10 day ago, and it is amazing. Very accurate and beautifull, i use it every day in gym and wear it 24/7
I find it for 699$ on sale in Croatia.

Great video!

I have absolutely loved my Apple Watch Ultra. I have the original and it’s great. Does everything I want it to do and tracks well. I’ve ran plenty of marathons and it work has enough battery to get me where I need to go afterwards with usually 30-40% left.

Garmin Instict 2X Tactical here. I love it!! Would not change it for free. Well, maybe with the MARQ series but who wouldn't

These days I wear Epix Pro and Apple Watch Ultra. But the Ultra is a fine running watch by itself. Nice overview of your usage of the devices.

I love my Garmin Instinct 2, just bought it last week, new for 180 euros. Coming from Amazfit Gtr 3 Pro, much better watch. Amazing video, cheers

It would be awesome if you added sections in your video, easy to navigate and to find which watches you will be ranking..

Good stuff Matt. I’d probably push the Pace 3 higher in the rankings. This list pretty much has any and every runner covered. I’d also find a way to get a 955 in the top 10.

I have been using the Fenix 6 for over a year now. Helping out with my son's boy scout troop, the long battery life and mapping features really make this watch indispensable. Week-long camp outs are nothing for this watch. I love using the sight and go feature while teaching the kids orienteering. They can use their compass and count their steps. I will just walk behind them making sure they are going the right way.
