Very interesting discussion, covering not just Covid but also providing a window into where we are politically snd socially in the UK.

I don't know whether there was a shadowy conspiracy behind the covid response, but the actions of the various organisations and the governments do suggest it was more than just panic and incompetence. A lot of the decisions made were not only against available evidence but were all in one direction:
- The initial mortality rate for covid was exaggerated (by conflating the hospitalisation cases with the overall infection mortality rate)
- The PCR tests (not that accurate to begin with) were pushed with official advice being to increase the testing cycles to a number that would dramatically increase the number of false positives. - - - The previously agreed pandemic response was jetisoned by multiple governments with no real justification.
- Previous studies on mask efficiency were ignored and they were used to increase fear, not due to any scientific evidence.
- The modeling the UK government requested from SAGE was only for "worst case" scenarios, not a range of possible scenarios.
- Causes of death were changed to report any death within 28 days of a positive test as being a covid death
- Existing effective anti-viral treatments (Ivermectin, Hydrochloraquine), were discredited and trials with them were rejected.
- The UK government used government organisations to keep track of dissenters on social media and pushed media companies to censor anything they didn't like.
- The UK government used its "nudge" unit to increase fear amongst the populace to justify its actions.
- The goernment overruled its own advisers to push covid vaccines on children, despite evidence clearly showing they were not at risk.

Yeah people do want to forget bad experiences unless they are victims of a murderous crime then they want justice that is part of recovery

Can you please ensure that when questions are taken from the floor that people are adequately heard? A microphone for the audience might not have been necessary in the room, but for this video it was. I couldn't hear most of the points or questions. Anyway, Toby seems unaware of how cancelling works. The people who do the cancelling don't get involved in debates, they completely avoid them and use social media and use pressure to silence those they disagree with. Debate isn't a factor.

Left-leaning progressives? Is there such a thing as right-leaning progressives…
