Damn, how he sings on top of that bassline is a jaw-dropping enigma.

Paul wrote this song because all the critics were saying that all he writes is love songs. So he wrote this and it went to number one! He said I won't write hate songs:)

Paul is the Bach of popular music. I completely regret that one day he will not be among us.

In the 1970's, Paul McCartney was criticized at times by John Lennon and various music critics for writing so called light senseless pop songs about love. Music critics were even questioning McCartney's ability for writing great music - like he had done earlier in his career. This song was McCartney's answer he gave to those "brilliant" music critics.

"Silly Love Songs" topped the charts nearly the entire Spring/Summer of 1976, and finished the year at #1 in Billboards list of best songs of 1976. On a side note, the beginning of this song sounds to me like a factory making and churning out silly love songs. Silly love songs? Keep them coming, Mr. McCartney. We'll take them all.

I love how Paul's bass is at the front of the mix. This song deserves it, the bass line has such groove

When you get criticised for writing Silly Love Songs, you write another one and it goes to number 1 in the U.S in 1976, take that critics, the people have spoken.

The skill required to play that complicated bass line, while pulling off top shelf vocals is off the charts!
One of the greatest musicians, writer's and pop vocalists of any generation!

He played 28 songs in that show. Now who plays 28 songs on one evening these days? He's the best.

Cant believe how well he can play those bass lines while singing! Sir Paul w̶a̶s̶ IS a true musician unlike some these days!

ALSO EDIT 7 YEARS LATER: Anyone notice in the background at 0:04 somebody throws something at Joe English (the drummer) that hits him in the face and explodes?

God I'm so jealous of this man's ability to sing play bass, piano, guitar. As well as write the catchiest songs. What a talent.
