Getting started with tutoring on Wyzant!

In this video I go over how I got started as a Wyzant tutor on their platform. I started over a year ago and have since logged almost two hundred hours on their platform, and have maintained a 5.0 star rating with 91 reviews.
I was nervous getting started, but I cover how I got through my first session and offer up some advice on how to get going!

My dashboard does not show how to answering to posted jobs. How do you do that on wyzant's dashboard

The support on Wyzant is severely lacking. I've had a problem with my last two classes, and if I don't get an answer from Wyzant on what's going on, I may lose my 5.0 rating or lose the student. Since the beginning with one of my students, I have scheduled my lessons with him for a 45 minutes (that's what he wanted), but about half an hour into the lesson, I get this loud, annoying clanging sound, I suppose it's a warning bell that's meant to warn me that the lesson time has been exceeded. Except that it's wrong. I schedule my lessons with this student for 45 minutes and I get the warning after about 30 minutes, then after a couple more minutes, the platform ends our lesson. I've emailed the company (from the "contact us" area of the site) and have also posted a question about why this is happening on the "Ask a Wyzant Expert" area, too. No answer yet. Yes, I understand that this channel doesn't deal with Wyzant glitches, but since I can't get help anywhere else...does anyone know why this could be happening?

I've had some good success tutoring through some other platforms but wyzant is new to me.... I have a few questions about getting started and getting clients without reviews.... I see there's a background check and I figure I should probably pay for that since it's only about $15 dollars and it looks like potential clients will be able to see that... other than that do you have any tips for getting started without reviews? Do you think answering expert questions means anything to potential clients or should I not even worry about that?

Hi Carlos and thank you for taking the time to make these helpful videos. I had my first student on Wyzant today. I used the Wyzant online platform but I would rather use google meet or zoom. How do I do this? Do I enter the Wyzant online classroom and then send the student the google meet or zoom link through the Wyzant classroom chat? I am just not sure how the system knows we met and completed the session if I use something other than the Wyzant online classroom. Thanks in advance
