Wet Granulation Process | Kneading Or Wetting

In this video we discussed about the most important step of wet granulation which is kneading. The process in which we convert fine powders into wet mass using binder solution or solvent is known as kneading or wetting.Kneading is most important step of wet granulation which is used for manufacturing of tablets by wet granulation. Wet granulation process is also used for manufacturing of dry powder suspensions ,lozenges and pills.
Binder Addition rate and kneading time plays an important role for granules quality. Over wetting or increased kneading time may results in doughy mass or over wet mass which may produce hard granules.Under wetting or less kneading time results in more fine.
End point determination during wet granulation is done by following methods.
Banana Technique or Hand squeeze Method.
Power Consumption of motor.
Torque value.
End point determination by banana technique depends on operator or pharmacist's skills and excepirence.
