This video speaks to me, couldn't have explained it any better.

I can totally relate Mav. At 58 I have spent most of my life living alone and still do. All I need socially is to drop by the local country store for few minutes to say hey to one or two people and I'm good...lol

I took myself out on my first solo “date” in my early 20’s. It felt weird at first, but it became necessary to push myself to be comfortable alone more so in public, I’m an introvert too. I had a 4 course meal that day and it was glorious. I encourage everyone I know to get to know themselves this way. I’ve also gone for drinks and a movie solo. I’m working up to traveling on my own. It’s pretty great to know you can do anything on your own if you choose to. Plus if you can’t like you then how can anyone else?

I never really noticed how similar we all are, anti-social yet random burst of conversation. That really hits home on my personality.

Hey man this video was really special for what I’m going through in my life, hope you’re doing good and your channel is such a cozy and important place on YouTube.
Keep doing you

It took me twice as many years to figure this out than it did Mav. If you can learn to be comfortable being alone, and learn to enjoy your own company, it's one of the greatest gifts you can bestow upon yourself in life.

One of my fondest memories:
Came home after a year stationed in South Korea, bought a new truck, drove by myself from NY to WA State. Seeing America like that - by myself - from the perspective of someone who was in a very foreign culture for a year - it was amazing. It would have taken away from the experience had someone been with me, I think.

I feel you 100% on the “extroverted introvert” deal. Sometimes I just wanna laugh, talk and hang out. Other times I just wanna be left alone to do what I want, be it cooking something different, playing video games, driving with some good music, etc.

Personally since losing my other half I’m enjoying the solitude. He taught me a lot about doing things on my own and so far his advice served me well. I still have our two dogs and although having to return to the workforce coming home to quiet has been a blessing. If you start to feel alone a dog serves as a great companion. Yes my dogs miss him but the loss has brought us closer. You can come and go when you want and only have to answer to my four legged kids. My time is that mine and we go when we want. Nice!!

I feel ya man! I’m 25 and single. Bought a house a little over a year ago. I wanted to go on some trips because I have this desire to explore and camp in the wilderness. I kept telling myself I wanted to wait to experience these things with my future wife, but it hit me that we aren’t promised tomorrow, and if I wanted to do something I just need to go do it. So I drove 18 hours to the Grand Canyon over Spring Break last year and hiked to the bottom and back up in one day (something I told myself I wanted to do before I died). I’m planning another trip this Spring Break and it’s been on my mind to go to other places this summer when I’m not working. This video has helped me decide that I am going to do just that.

If anyone has made it this far into my comment, just know that tomorrow may never come. Your desires today may never happen if you wait to see them out. Go and do what it is you’ve been pushing off until so and so happens. There is no better time than the present.

This video is exactly why I started following your channel Mav. I agree with everything you said. Especially when you said, being in a room full of people and being lonely. I learn to be alone after a long time. And yes it is powerful to be able to be alone.

The way you explained being an introvert but still enjoying extroverted activities at times is exactly how I feel. Just gotta take time to charge the social battery sometimes. Living the dream mav! Becoming a bigger fan every day

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way.. I always thought it was bad but I enjoy being by myself 90-95% of the time.

I felt this as I’m sure a lot of other people did. Mental health is important yet an extremely tough subject to address. Keep on truckin’ Mav.

Honestly... I've been living alone for over 20 years now and I don't think I could do it any other way anymore. I completely get it.

My dude, it’s so refreshing hearing a fit and young guy talk about eating at restaurants alone.
As a ”big guy” and always have been a big guy, I can relate so much to what you were saying. I’ve learned the last 4 years, for me, that it’s about being totally selfcentered and imagining the whole world revolves around me and everybody watching my every move and thinking that I knew what people were thinking about me because that’s how I would think about me or them.

As you said, it is such a freedom to be comfortable in your own company at any place.

Very intimate and good video Maverick.
Thank you for making it, I really do love all your content.
Much love from Sweden. / teps
