RTX 3060 Ti in 2024 - Is It Still a Decent 1440p Card?

The RTX 3060Ti launched nearly 4 years ago to excellent reviews, but poor availability. It was praised for it's decent 1440p performance so today, I want to see how well it does in a selection of games at 2560 x 1440 with no DLSS, FSR or any other upscaling involved.

Yes, it’s still decent at 1440p with the help of optimized settings and DLSS, which should offer a better experience than playing at native resolution with lower settings.

ive been running my 3060ti & 11600k combo for over a year now & its honestly a beautiful balance paired with 32gb of ddr4 for 1080p gaming, think i'll be keeping mine until we see 6th gen gpu's hit the market

This was my GPU for a couple of years now and in 1440p, with some small tweaks, it ran beautifully, albeit a bit warm (OC and UV). Just upgraded to the 7900 XT recently but the 3060 ti holds a special place on my shelf for being an awesome card. If you can snag one for $200-250 USD, it's well worth it! DLSS helps a ton with higher framerates in more demanding games too.

3060 Ti is great for even higher resolutions than 2560x1440 because I have ultra-wide monitor with 3440x1440 resolution and just putting game settings to High with DLSS on Quality makes job done with 60-80 fps all the time. Add Frame Generation on top of that nice stable high framerate and you will have 120hz smooth low response time experience.

On the used market the 3070 and 3060ti are amazing values if you can get the 8gb of vram to work for you. The 3070 especially has more power than most people need

It's unfortunate Nvidia chose to only equip the 3060Ti with 8 GBs of memory instead of 12.

A lot of these games offer upscaling of some kind as well. The DLSS quality preset especially is super worth doing at 1440p. Without ray tracing the 3060 Ti is still a stellar option.

I got an FE on launch day and used until a couple month ago with no bother on a 3440x1440 monitor.

Was also able to run it with a slight overclock and undervolt that had it at just 180W. Fantastic card IMO

Have been using a 3060Ti (EVGA model, RIP) for 1440p since mid-late pandemic when i grabbed it used for $400CAD, no complaints

I have recently switched to a 1440p display and my 3060ti is holding up surprisingly well. I do have a 5700X3D and 32 GB of RAM but i can barely notice a performance difference compared to 1080p using DLSS Quality and now it doesn't look like ass when I use upscaling.

Changed from a 1050ti to this just a month ago I managed to pick It up for less than the equivalent of 180gbp here in Poland and for my 1440p curved monitor at 144hz its the perfect card! Will be upgrading from Risen 5 3600 to a 5700x3d to boost performance a bit more but still very happy with all the features and no hiccups. Love the channel been watching for years <3 Great work keep it up!

Still using my 3060 Ti for 4K gaming, but I am definitely making a lot of use out of DLSS performance mode. Going to retire it when the 50XX cards come out next year, and likely get a 5070, but this is still a very worthwhile card for 1440p and particularly with DLSS.

Got a 5700x and a 3060ti, at 1440p, very happy with the combo, works wonderfully together, having the cpu overhead is very nice with this card too, when it struggles with fps and graphics details, the cpu makes up for it by keeping it all smooth and silky gameplay wise, which is great.
