E.coli bacteria lysis caused by bacteriophage T4

To view this phenomenon, we prepared a 35mm Ibidi dish with a nutritive LB agar medium with both the bacteria and bacteriophages mixed in. Then, the bacteria were imaged using the 3D Cell Explorer (holo-tomographic microscope) at 37°C for 2hrs with images being captured every 30 sec.

I too thought it would be graphic, like, the bacteria slowly ripping, and the phages bursting horribly...
Then I remembered a bacteria is a single cell... Of course they just cease to exist.
Boom.

I keep wondering if bacteria cells are solid circles/ovals etc but just limited by our microscope views. I laugh sometimes saying to myself what if the sun is gods microscope and the earths his slab?
