How to Transfer Large Videos From iPhone To PC for Free

This is how I get large videos from my iPhone to a Windows based PC.

Step 1 – Download the VLC media player (well known and reputable app) to your iPhone.

Step 2 – Next, go to photos on your iPhone and open the video you want to send. Click on the bottom left icon, then scroll down to where it says ‘save to files’. Select VLC and click save in the upper right corner.

Step 3 – Open the VLC app on your iPhone. Go to network settings in VLC and make sure the 'sharing via wifi' is toggled on. Also, note that the phone and computer need to be connected to wifi.

Copy the http address below where it says ‘sharing via wifi’. Leave the app open while we transition to your computer.

Step 4 - Go to your computer’s web browser (Google Chrome or Firefox or whatever you have) and type in the address that’s in the VLC app (under sharing via wifi) on your phone. Hit enter.

Step 5 – Click the video you want to download and you’re done!

oh my gosh dude! this just saved me 22 hours of waiting for some stupid app called "Send Anywhere", only after I had searched for, like, 2 hours on so many other sites for a free software that would let me transfer a 1.5 hour (7+ GB) video I created for a college class from my phone to my PC. Think you for saving my life. Following your way, I transferred my daughter's 1:32 ' 5.5G video to PC in 4 mins. The PC was connected with Ethernet cable to the router, and iPhone with 5G WiFi.What a simple and easy way! and it is free !!!!

Absolute lifesaver!!! Spent an embarrassing time trying to get these files moved to PC and this worked like a charm.

If you have issues downloading from the website it could be your browser. Firefox would only play the file instead of downloading for me, but switching to Edge worked immediately. Im sure there’s a setting/permission that could be enabled on whichever you are using I just couldn’t find the right one.
