I saw Troye in concert with my 14 year old in LA last year with Kim Petras. My kid came out as trans on the way to the show. That concert, this song, and this movie helped save my kid's life, and helped me figure out how to be a better parent a trans kid (which is more about me getting over my shit and just being happy to have such a cool kid). This song brings us such peace daily-thank you Troye.

Internalized homophobia is one of the worst things.
I've never had to go through it but just imagine being a way where you can't change who you are, you can pretend and want to change but can't and feeling like you're a disgrace and like you shouldn't be that way. Possibly falling in love, still feeling like you shouldnt so you pass up the chance to be with someone. I hope to everyone who hates themselves for being LGBT will learn it's okay and anyone who doesn't love them for them shouldn't be in there lives and learns to accept themselves <3

I hope many, many people go see Boy Erased. It is at times a difficult movie to watch, but all the same it's incredibly important, especially for those who still don't understand that so-called "conversion therapy" is no more than emotional abuse trying to force someone to change who they are. It's time we all accepted that #LoveIsLove and started being better to each other.
