Don't mean to disdparge Pakistan's anthem (s), but the original one was discarded soon after it was written, remember, because the composer was a Hindu ? The present anthem is beautiful, but is in PERSIAN, a language with which Pakistan has no relationship. Must be the ONLY National Anthem in the world in a completely alien language !

Mulk, SULTANAT...." - has it struck NOone, not ONE Pakistani, in the entire history of Pakistan, just how inappropriate that is ? You aspire to be a 'Sultanat' ? Really ? In the 20th and 21st centuries ? This is especially as its so easy to maintain the flow of the poem even after deleting the S word - just put in 'Jamhuriat' instead. In India a similar Sanskrit- Hindi word - say 'Rajatya' - in anything remotely to do with the Republic, would instantly evoke howls of protest. Not one cheep, ever, from the Land of the Pure: noone's even noticed. Symptomatic, I suppose, of many things that are worng with that benighted land.
