Just You : Taiwanese Drama Review

Taiwanese dramas are...weird. Okay, that's terrible of me, but c'mon, they're weird. Their tone is wacky, their comedy is zany, and their angst has no chill. But! Sometimes when you push past that, you can find some drama gems.

Great review! I loved all of your comments about the drama. I have only watched one Taiwanese drama before which was the Devil Beside You. btw it was amazing. I might just have to add this on my list on dramas to watch because I am a sucker for the whole we will never date but hey we do plot line.

Ugh that really irked me about just you; he made it seem like he was going back to his ex and thatthere girl was overreacting by giving give space when in reality there were at least 3 different scenes where he could have told her he wanted to be with her but that didn't happen. I blame the writers. Aaron is a much better actor than that and people wonder why I prefer fall in love with me over just you

I have yet to bring myself to watch a Taiwanese drama (I watched a REALLY dumb one when I first started watching dramas but that was in desperation and boredom so I try to ignore it's existence) because I'm wary of the oddness people seem to refer to in regards to them.

I don't know why, but i get the feeling that most taiwanese dramas are kind of "cursed" to get draggy and boring after all while. It doesn't matter if it's a 14 episode drama or a 80 episode drama, after 1/4 of the story....something always ends up feeling off. What started off as a unique plot gets so draggy and overdramatically silly that it makes me want to hit my head against the nearest wall. Not to mention that Taiwan doesn't really have different genres to offer, 99% of everything they produce drama-wise seems to be silly romance comedies that get repetitive and boring after a while X_x
