Its not true that Quantum AI was not a thing until recently (Just think of the PAC model of the 80-00s). There have however been more recent developments in the field such as in Quantum neural networks. I would like to think he was talking about Robert Huang but I believe that guy went to Caltech so thats probably the wrong guy.
