In chapter two of the cabinet building series, I’ll show you everything you need to know about building shaker style cabinet doors and ebonizing wood. For these doors, I chose to veneer them with white oak and walnut using an MDF substrate. And this ebonizing process resulted in the blackest boards I’ve seen. Follow along and stay tuned for the series finale.

8 - another killer build dude! I love how your videos are packed with tips while you build. It’s cool to see that stuff used in real world projects. I have never seen anyone ebonize like you did but man, that looks amazing. I’ll definitely have to give that a try. Thanks for sharing and I’m eagerly awaiting the final product, it’s looks beautiful.

Nice work! I add some instant coffee powder to my iron acetate solution to give pine panels a nice brownish tint. The coffee also helps turn red oak super black.

I truly love your work and attention to detail. I have learned a lot watching you. Thanks! Even though I am not a fan of the all-black look, the technique is amazing, and I will use it on some of my builds in the future.

VII - wow, this cabinet is incredible! I love the black top and how you managed to pull that into the frames. I’ve never tried veneer but I would love to give it a shot although I don’t know that it’s as easy as you made it look. Lol- great work, I can’t wait to see the next one!

7/9 - only one fingernail needed to grab the little guy hanging on! Nice project. I trust my miter saw as much as my table saw - but have a small hand one for delicate pieces (shop made miter)

Great Video! Can you say which glue you used for the commercial veneer? You mentioned it was a cold press glue, but not by name. Thanks!

8 - Have you tried Mohawk NGR jet black stain? You get those same results with way less effort. Give it a try! It works great!
