Why Saudi Arabia’s $2 Trillion Line City Is Failing

Saudi Arabia’s $2 trillion "Line City" project sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie—a 170-km-long city designed to fit millions of people in a super high-tech, linear structure. But it’s running into some major issues. First, the cost is mind-blowing, and many experts think it’s just not realistic to pull off. On top of that, building such a massive structure in the middle of the desert has crazy engineering and environmental challenges. Plus, people are questioning whether anyone would actually want to live there, given the limitations of such a compact, narrow space. It’s a bold idea, but it might just be too ambitious to work in the real world.

Honestly it seems like the worse environmental disaster imaginable.

High speed train with only 4 stops in 107 miles, serving 9 million people daily? How does that work? Autonomous self driving cars in a city that has no streets? How does that work? From a firefighters point of view, this whole city is a fire trap from which there is no escape. Can you say "Epic Fail"?

Fun fact: in romanian language, "om" means humain. Aslo, in Romanian language, when is added "ne" before a verb or subs, it became antonim or negation, ex: 'plăcut' (likeable) with 'ne' 'neplăcut' (unlikeable). Therefore, NEOM in romanian language means 'is not humain' or 'unhumain' or 'not a humain' or 'beast'.

Extremely expensive cityscape to be made self-sufficient. How?

They should just convert the city idea into a tourist vacation spot or a high tech resort for sports instead, that way the project budget is more affordable rather than trying to make it into a big city which no children will be beneficial in while growing up in this city. Imagine the children growing up in this city will only know how to travel in a straight line that hinder imagination.

It’s the same region that produced the world’s first HUGE engineering enterprise, The Tower of Babel.
And we all know how that went . . . down.

When you do please thoroughly research the entire subject. The line will use natural light, they designed to be heat resistant, natural cold air to in and hot air to out, that they fully operational in renewable energy,
