I'm like you Matt, in that I usually adjust my blacks and whites (by holding the Option key for both adjustments) manually other than use the Curves tool. Good instructional! (Finding your How To course to be extremely helpful!) 👍🏼

Great vid, thanks! I'm not the biggest Tone Curve guy either (I kind of feel guilty about this lol). I've been using the histogram for some adjustments, essentially the same thing as using the Basic sliders but it makes sense to me.

Great video, as always, Matt - thank you. I don't know when they added it, but I just noticed that when you do a Mask selection (eg subject) a check box now appears immediately under the top most tool bar to 'invert' the selection. Unlike the option you get by right-clicking the three dots by the mask icon itself, this doesn't duplicate and invert, it just inverts - so I guess it's only useful if you somehow selected 'subject' instead of 'background' or vice versa. Maybe you already covered this and I missed it.

I never use curves in Camera Raw, however its my main tool in Photoshop

I love to know if you can get the same results using other panels as using the Curves panel (I am guessing yes?) and how the other panels and controls map to the adjustments in the Curves panel.

I feel your customers should get a little bit of a pre-talk adjustment when using the screens whether it's an iPhone or a computer, to make a fair adjustment in viewing your tutorials - this is just a suggestion because a lot of times we take it for granted that our screens are always conducive to a great video tutorial such as yours

Thanks for the vid. Do you think using curves to raise the shadows produces less noise? Curious.
