I was looking for one song about Legba and on one site I accidentally saw "Moonlite Benjamin. Papa Legba" . I was skeptical at first because I'll be honest, I've come across very few good voodoo songs. But then for some reason I turned it on to listen. I confess that I was surprised, because I liked the first notes and decided to listen further. When I heard the beat of the drums, I clearly saw before my inner gaze the feet of a traveler walking along a dusty road. His steps sounded along with the rhythm of the music. The voice, deep and strong, sang "Papa Legba, Papa Legba!" and I was shocked. I immediately recognized the Creole language, although I had never heard it before. The voice sang, and I felt the hot air, dusty crossroads, dry grass growing along the roads, and a wanderer with a staff in a straw hat walking along these roads. I thought "Wow, what a lively and beautiful song! This is the way to sing about Papa Legba!" I googled about Moonlight Benjamin and everything fell into place. This music is truly blessed by Loa, and now, when I look at the beautiful singer Moonlight Benjamin, I am delighted to see a real Haitian voodoo priestess. Alive and fiery, the way I always thought of them. And now I'm here to say it in person.
