Single person, no kids, no relationships & no disposable income spending... To live just average & survive with the basic necessities is about $60, -$65, 000 NET/year. $$$ will increase significantly if you have personal debts also.

When i lived in LA in the 80s housing was already expensive but you could buy an affordable house in Covina for example and commute to LA by bus. Now even Victorville 50 miles away is unaffordable.

I lived in SoCal for 2 years and would only move back if I was making a minimum of $90K/yr and above. Anything less makes for an uncomfortable experience where you're just getting by check to check and unable to invest, save much, or do anything nice for yourself tbh.

San Diego was named the most expensive city in the United States. Don’t come here. I live in a gang neighborhood and homes that were built in 1970’s with 4 bed 2 bath, is selling for $1 million.

I live in the South Bay, a couple of blocks from the beach. My cost of living is about $72, 000 annually. One thing about California is that it is nearly always cheaper to rent than to own. The least expensive condo on my block is for sale at $999, 000.

Car registration? Only $200. What are you on, Steve? My car registration was between $500-700 last year.

As a single, child-free person living in Los Angeles, I was interested to see what you had to say and I gotta admit, you are right on the money. 🤣🤣🤣 Your numbers are vv close to what I spend a month in those categories. The only difference is my cellphone: I’m still on an old plan that I refuse to abandon 😅 and it runs me about $75 + another $20 for my Apple Watch. But yep, everything else just about matches up. 👍🏾👍🏾

I wonder where did you find car insurance for 200$

Higher easy income jobs would be UPS, Fedex, Amazon or Auto sales unless your in the trades. Chicago is about $500 less a month Arlington TX is about $700 less a month than the price of LA.

I live in L.A. and I don't spend that much. I probably spend more than I should on cell phone fees. But otherwise, I don't spend on the same level as you. Where exactly do you live?

I lived in Carmel mountain San Diego back in 1997, it was pricey back then 2 bedroom, 2 bath, $1, 700!… we lived across from the golf course too, 😒 we ended up moving to Rancho Bernardo… which was a bit more affordable… love San Diego though…👍

What is the best city in America other than New York and Los Angeles? My dream is to be an artist, actor, and musician. I will be famous. It is a vibrant city. The living space is less and the luxury is high. Please reply.
