We should all watch this short clip regularly. Addiction has been normalized in our present day world. Hence there is neither inner nor outer peace any longer.

I would love to have the amount of control required to set limits. However I am an all or nothing type.
So for example I was a smoker and no matter how often I would cut down to a few per day I would eventually go back to the original quota.
I decided to stop alcohol and just like that I was full on to junk food treats.
I think there may well be some who can have limits.
But if you have the all or nothing personality its total abstinence.
I dont think science really knows enough about addiction . Perhaps that is why many religions practice fasting and prayer and meditation. Probably works like power lifts for the brain.
