Much better than the recent Fifth Gear Recharged first series I didn’t even finish watching. Electric cars may be the future but are boring. Bring back Tiff too!

16:49 I can't understand why range extender EV didn't catch on. It a miles more practical solution than relying solely on battery power. If I was forced to drive an EV, hydrogen fuel cell will be my top choice. But if I don't have access to hydrogen filling station, range extending EV will be my alternative.

What's more shocking in the slalom test is Jason only had it in N - normal mode, in this mode the engine is only pumping out around 300bhp, you don't get the full 500+ unless you go into D - Dynamic or into the AMG is in full fat power mode all the time afaik?? (albeit held back by TC and Stab like the Alfa of course)

I love it how some think a black intercooler runs cooler than a silver unpainted version 🙄. Not true, if anything the layer of black paint makes it worse, plus black absorbs more heat in direct sunlight (negligible, but a fact).

The WRX STI that Jimmy works on probably isnt a 2001 MY example unless the later facelifted front end (That was designed by Peter Stevens) came from a later car, Like a 2003 or 2004 MY example.

I'd have to see the paperwork confirming his claims when it comes to the MY.

It's sad. Fifth gear has become all power and speed. Driving sideways in cars were unlikely to own, and if we did, we wouldn't five them like that.

thanks guys. so, which one requires the least amount of maintenance (mx)? then, when they do require mx, which one is easier to maintain and work on, say in you garage? Or, do both of these cars require you to have your mechanic on speed dial? They maybe be greatest cars in the world, but that can be ruined by complexity or overall fragility. Would you buy the most comfortable shoes or pants that needed constant mending after wearing them once or twice; I didn't think so...

Between that Merc and die Alfa, i'd have the Alfa. Nobrainer. Would need some other car to use as a daily driver tho, don't want to ruin a car like that with a tow hook and stuff like that...
