I had this question in my mind but I subconsciously knew it had to do with the fact that the won't be any more Prophets coming after Prophet Muhammad SAW and that one of the many miracles of the Quraan is that its preserved till Judgement day. Nothing can be added or taken away from it and Allah himself took responsibility for the preservation of it without tasking it to us.
