CRSC - Combat Related Special Compensation for VA Disability Claims. How to calculate!

Black Hawk Bryan "SHOWS" you the process that DFAS uses to calculate an individuals CRSC payment amount, if eligible. This is part 2 of a series on CRSC. Very few people are engaged enough in the VA process to even tackle this issue. You can take this information and input your specific data to achieve an approximate number for yourself. Remember, you cannot receive CRSC and CRDP at the same time. Also, there is a 6 year statute of limitation on CRSC. To get to the power point presentation from DFAS, type this into your search bar and look for the official DFAS page or follow the link below:

I just filed for CRSC. I was paralyzed from chest down from an IED in Iraq back in 2004. I never heard of this until about six months ago.

If you make it past 20 and get a non-medical retirement; then the VA and Army HRC gives you a 100% rating; what percentage you use for military disability rating? 0?

I’m having issues calculating my CRSC amount and was hoping you could help. I was medically retired at 9 years 6 months of service. I retired September 2022. My Army/DOD rating is 30%, VA Rating of 100%, CRSC Rating of 70%. I’m married with one child. I appreciate any help you could give me with finding out the CRSC Entitlement amount

I am a Retired Veteran with 32yrs of service (USAR). Called to combat 2x, served in a Combat zone 1x.
Went through a PEB and received 70% Mil Disability and 70% VA disability.
Due to my year in combat, my Retirement age was reduced, and I began receiving CRSC at age 59 instead of 60.
Since the initial awarding of the VA rating, it has increased to 100% for that very same combat related injury. I applied for a Reconsideration (12E) to increase my CRSC rating to 100%.
If approved, what will the CRSC payment be, and will this be more beneficial than receiving CRDP.
Thank you for your time.

Appreciate you digging into this but I’m still very confused, I’m 100%P&T and approved for 100% CRSC. I feel like the math should be simple but I’m simply confused
