I have owned a Renault Zoe 22kwh, Renault Zoe 41kwh, DS 3 Crossback E-Tense 50kwh, Fiat 500e 42 kwh and now an MG4 Trophy 64kwh. The MG4 is the best I have driven, smoothest ride, quietest at 70mph+ and most amount of room inside. Also the only car that's been close to the WLTP range advertised. The european cars range never got close to their WLTP and felt like they lie about the range numbers.

Selling like hot cakes here in the UK, I’ve got the mid spec long range and we love it, it does have a few quirks but nothing drastic, the information system is being updated all the time after feedback from customers. We think the dealerships are playing catch up which the technology due to lack of skilled technicians. Overall the MG4 will put a grin on your face with its 200 BHP.
Good stuff Sam for keeping us informed. Regards to you and the family.

Good to see BYD being pushed to reduce their overseas prices.

Camry has been pretty much knocked out by TM3 and Atto.

MG 4 it seems will do a similar job on the Corolla.

I've only sat in the MG4 aswell as most of its competitors and i have to say MG seem to have a winner with this model IMO.
Its hard to put my finger on why I liked it so much but after sitting in other cars the 4 just felt right plus this just might be the first EV to meet price parity which is amazing.

I got a call from MG head office in Sydney in May saying I was not only the first person in australia to register interest in the mg4 but to order one :) Thank god theyre bringing out the LFP version. Reliably charge whereever and however you want

I wish they had the mid spec version with the LFP option. Best of both worlds and I reckon they sell a boat load

Great to hear… for Australians.
Just checked here NL, for the price (Van mossel importing)
Result: €35K - €39K.

The BYD's base model Dolphin at 70kW is absolutely anaemic compared to the MG4's decent 125kW for its 39k base model. People might buy the 150kW Dolphin but no-one will buy the Dolphin with its 70kW of power unless they are significantly cheaper than the MG4, like the low 30s.
This is such good news for Australia.

Test drove it and loved it. Saving my pennies. For me it’s currently unbeatable.

Great deal for Australia, we really get ripped off in the UK...and MG is not the worst offender

Big thumbs up to MG for this price for the MG4 base model. Awesome. This will give a kick up the pants to legacy auto to get their act together.

There's an MG4 Long Range with my name on it somewhere! Hopefully it will be released next month with delivery soon after.

As I have been saying - it’s the Car Ford want to make but can’t for that price yet. It’s looks different in a good way, it’s not a SUV, does decent miles to a charge. They are coming in at around £28k on the road and now plenty of them about.

You may want to check out BYD registering cars in China and dumping them in big fields. This would make sense why they charge so much in other countries. I saw this on another you tube channel.

It's cheaper in Ireland than a Corolla hatch too. MG4 LFP is €29495 vs Corolla Luna starting at €32685. Now that's comparing an EV with a €3500 subsidy against a car without but even without counting it it's still ballpark the same price and of course it *does* have that subsidy. It also has better level of kit too. Toyota doesn't even equip the Luna & Luna Sport (€36, 880) models with parking sensors let alone 360 degree cameras which you can get in the high end MG which costs less than the Luna Sport. I also notice Toyota are describing their hybrids now as "electric hybrids" despite them running off petrol. That isn't to say everything goes MG's way. They really need to work on their software because while it has a lot of functionality it also contains some annoying behaviours and glitches.

MG4 is rear wheel drive. It handles very well. This is what owners are saying.

Have a safe journey back to Australia with your family Sam. And I hope that Shannon enjoys the trip too. All the best.

It is cheaper than the GWM Ora in the base model but the Ora is way better equipped in its base model form. I am probably still going to spend the extra and get the MG4 Essence 64kw.
