Ah, Street Fighter, the game series that spawned a thousand minor revisions and made you pay for each one. I remember, perhaps incorrectly, that in the local arcades, people would dig around for what version of the game was loaded in the cabinets, because that would affect various tweaks/adjustments/exploits. And I'm not talking about versions like: Super or Turbo, or Super Turbo. I mean like Super v. 1.3.16.8.

Just remembering this is resurrecting the fatigue. I tapped out at Street Fighter 4. My local Gamestop was hosting a tournament (which I think was Capcom sponsored) to celebrate the release. I was wiped out in the first round by some trash-talking brat and I knew: "I'm getting too old for this."

In all fairness, I was never a good player. Once they introduced the Parrying mechanic, a wall was erected between filthy Casuals like me, and hardcore nuts who would download and review footage from tournaments.
