Saw Bryn Terfel at Tanglewood in recital several years ago. The amazing thing about him was just how much he was enjoying himself--in fact he didn't want to stop. After a couple of hours, he launched into a series of encores. Then he took requests. Then he remarked on how acoustically wonderful the space was and announced he would "test" it by singing as loud as he could. IDK, maybe he was on something 🤪 but it was FABULOUS!!! I will never forget it.

my choir teacher in high school, mr graves, actually worked for festival disney in their choir for years before becoming a teacher and ill never forget when he performed this for us to teach about having confidence in your voice while learning how to utilize your range!

I am constantly coming back to this video. This semester at school, I am picking this to be one of my repertoire pieces, and I am planning to perform it like Bryn Terfel does here. I can't wait for everyone in the room to die laughing 🤣

Ive always like this rendition. Since he's adding he's own flair and antics into the song, it adds a layer of personality thats similar to the original but otherwise personal.

What i mean is that in the original, the emotion you get is akin to "Sigh, I know its not everything, but wouldn't it be nice to be rich".

In this one its "I know its not eveything, but come on! Wouldnt it be nice to be rich!?"

Its that subtle difference that I like.

I'd never heard of this guy until I saw him on Michael mckintyre. He was good so came on here to hear some more...What a fantastic, entertaining man. Brilliant voice and love the facial antics.. Will be watching a lot more of him....love from a new fan Bryn xx
