I can see where Nick gets his adventurous spirit. Those marble formations were striking. How cool that your mom and brother are joining you on your epic trip.

I like the statement made by your brother, Nick, that he prefers to ride a bicycle than in a car, l have been following his ethos for most of my life 😊

What a treat to be able to overland through Patagonia with your mother and brother, Nick, and, as the mother of an adult son myself, what a treat in particular for your mother to be able to do this with her sons! Absolutely gorgeous country (and loved the national park music.😊)

Love the lupines...The yellow lupine is probably an introduced species from much further north, that hitchhiked on muddy vehicle tires during or since the construction of the Carretera. The Scotch broom plague you encountered earlier, was also distributed in the same way, displacing the native vegetation and altering the balance in the landscape of native plants that the guanaco feed on.
These 'trade-offs' happen unconsciously and leave muddy footprints on the environment for endless time to come.

So glad to see that you decided to take Paso Roballos instead of the bigger border crossing in Chile Chico. I‘m sure you will love the remote adventure! Brings back great memories from our own trip in February 2023 🤩 I‘m really excited to see your next adventures!
