been using a homebrewed new 2ds xl for my portable emulation, sure there's more powerful stuff for many emulators but nothing plays DS games better than a DS and there's so much in the DS library I really want to dig through

I always wanted a psp when I was a kid and a few years back I went online and searched local flea markets. I found a psp 3000, bought it from a guy in a parking garage and I love it to death. The psp library is awesome and the emulation options on it are great. My psp has the original battery but it still gives a lot of onscreen time and whenever I travel by train or bus I take the psp with me just for a few rounds of bomber man, super mario or the briliant gta vice city stories. I paid about 1500 czk (70 usd) and if you can find one for this price and with a 32 gb card like I did, you will have the time of your life, believe me.

I just use my homebrew 3ds.
It's extremely easy to put custom firmware on a 3ds, and you can easily just make a virtual console injector for your roms

I use a dedicated phone and a wired controller (razer kishi), my hands sit almost perfectly on the controller even if it lacks grips.

If I want to I can also use the controller on my main phone if I want to, which is a nice plus if I can't carry much with me for whatever reason.

I got a Samsung Galaxy phone from Ebay to use as a dedicated emulation device. Works great and was only $100. I just leave it in the controller, which can charge the phone, and it's always good to go

I just use Delta on my iPhone. Best emulation experience I have ever had and very portable.

My personal preference is to use my phone with a Pop Socket and 8bitDo Zero controller. It's the most portable controller ever made, and you don't even feel it in your pocket. The key is to use the brightness at less than 50% and having a phone with at least 4000 mAh battery. It won't drain much battery (unless you play high end stuff like Wii) and it'll be super portable

You definitely need to do a tier list since the ps vita became a homebrew port heaven it would be good to see where you would put the ps vita

I 100% prefer dedicated device. I have an iPhone and don’t want to deal with the hassle of jailbreaking or altstore. Plus my portable collection is a bit too ridiculous to not use them. Side note, my portable emulation story is EXACTLY like yours. All started with taking that leap of faith to mod my OG PSP. Best decision ever. Lately though, I’m like you… psp go is my go to. I have 3 of them. 1 with all RPGs, 1 with sports games, and 1 with a bit of a mix. Keep up the awesome vids man, I’m a huge fan.

My preference goes to the rg280m the screen is just incredible and it's the best compromise for portability
