INSANELY Spicy Thai Street Food! Boat Noodles + Chicken Wings with Denzel Curry | Heat Eaters

Chef Esther Choi is back for another spicy Thai adventure! Last year, Esther spent a month eating her way around Bangkok and Thailand, and now she’s on a mission to find that irresistible heat in her hometown of NYC.

First stop: boat noodles, an iconic dish from Thailand's famous floating markets. Esther slurps down these flavorful noodles, using a spice-adjustable condiment caddy to add a variety of chilis. Next, she heads to one of her favorite spots, Fish Cheeks, where she’s joined by rapper Denzel Curry. Over a feast of regional Thai dishes, Denzel and Esther swap stories about their time in Thailand and his muay thai training. Then, it’s game on as they go head-to-head in a friendly eating showdown with the intensely spicy nam jim sauce.

YES! Pye Boat Noodles! I went to their Manhattan location when I lived in NYC and was so bummed when the devolopers kicked them out! Best Thai food in Manhattan and thier whole building was cleared out. Ugh. I actually found it because it had a bunch of 2 and 3-star reviews.... but NONE of the bad reviews were about the food, just that people felt that the interior looked weird or silly. I knew immediately from those clueless reviews that it was going to be authentic Thai food served in an authentic decor. I giggled when I saw the Power Rangers masks on the walls and was overjoyed when I ate my boat noodles. I told all my friends about it and the next time I went there I ran into one of them there. 😂 I am so glad they are still going strong in Astoria!

The spiciest among thai cuisine is 100 percent the southern cuisine. The heat is next level spicy from standard thau food. Even in Bangkok there's only a few authentic ones.
