BioMutant Is The RPG That I Wish I Loved | Review

BioMutant is a game that has a lot of great ideas. Hailing from a team of 20 developers, it is an ambitious open world RPG aiming to nail flexible combat, meaningful choice, and tons content to complete. Unfortunately, the game stumbles and never quite falls, but leaves room to wonder if they could have made something better if the team honed in on a number of features instead of doing too much. That said, BioMutant will click with people strictly on the basis of not being like any other game out there in many ways. If you can get by its rough edges, you'll find something to like.

Just the simple fact this game has been delayed multiple times yet a 20 person team managed to release and finish the game during a pandemic makes me want to support their game with more reason. I really hope they release a day 1 patch to address these issues and this game* becomes a huge success!

I think I’m still going to buy it. I had a strong feeling it was going to be meh. I assumed tge story/writing/choices would be lackluster, but I’m interested in the world, gameplay, gear. Sometimes i have more fun with a meh 7/10 than a 9/10 tbh. It just seemed to tick some boxes that will make me overlook the janky stuff.

At $40 this game with its flaws would be a no brainer. However at $60 its a hard sale. O' well maybe after so patches.

Yeah I think i’m going to get this still, it just is too stylish for me and I love seeing devs taking risks so i’m going to support it. Plus i’ve been wanting a new open world action game. I also have the money to spend.

I never expected this game to be a 10 out of 10 game and should cost more in the region of 40 bucks. I want to experience it myself and support the devs. I think I am the only person who likes the "Ubisoft Formula". I love running around grinding side content (I explored everything in AC Valhalla and Odessey) with a podcast or something on my second pc screen. It´s relaxing for me. As long it´s open world, sp and an rpg with loot I can have fun with it. Greedfall, Elex or Risen for example are games I really enjoyed even if a lot of reviewers criticize them.

I continue to tell all my friends that this is the right place for honest reviews. You, ACG and Worth a But are my go to for when I am wondering if I should get a game full price, wait for a sale, or throw it in the trash. I wish this game was worth full price, I was so ready to get it. Hopefully in 2-3 months it will be at the $30-$40 price point and pick it up. However, good job for the devs, they pulled off a better job than many triple A studios, so let's see how their next release will look like!

It's funny because in Canada the price tag for this game is 59.99$ CAD, while games are usually 79.99$ and now 89.99$ so for us the 60$ price tag is actually low.
