in the book, the room slowly fills with gunpowder, and flameheart starts panicking, then duke does the lil speech thing and knocks over the candle (on purpose), igniting the gunpowder, and then big boom

This info is slightly wrong he didn’t bring kegs he put a gunpowder barrel on top of a reapers bounty/chest and opened the other using flame hearts reapers bounty/chest whilst he was distracted by their chess game whilst the crew of the Morningstar had no clue where duke was he blew flameheart up and due to his sacrifice the ferryman allowed duke to be reborn without his memories
