Making a dress from 1974 | Sewing Simplicity 6044 | Vintage Sewing DIY

In this video I follow Simplicity 6044, a pattern for a caftan from 1974. I used an old sheet to make the dress.
The finished project is definitely wearable, however some things irk me a little; the interfacing left the yoke stiff which makes it sit a little funny and the pleating hits me a bit high. However, I do still like the style and would like to re-make it in a prettier fabric - perhaps in black with sheer black sleeves.
Would you wear this caftan or is it too removed from modern to be acceptable?
