Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) in SPSS Tutorial (SPSS Tutorial Video #22) - GLM

In this video, I cover the details of how how to conduct and interpret the results of a Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) using the General Linear Model (GLM) tool in SPSS. I walk you through all the steps to conduct a. MANOVA, interpret the results, plot the results, and consider how to think about multiple comparisons (using a bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons).

I compare this tool to the standard One-Way ANOVA tool and explain why GLM is more robust. An ANOVA allows you to compare the mean of a single variable across N (or many) groups. I show you how to do all this and include a discussion on multiple comparisons, bonferroni corrections, how to quickly plot results with error bars, and give you a chance to try it yourself.

This SPSS tutorial series is designed to teach you the basics of how to analyze and interpret the results of data using SPSS. I will cover everything from the very basics of the main windows within SPSS, to manipulating data, to running and interpreting meaningful analyses like t-tests, ANOVA, regression, and many more, and visualizing results.

How about the intention is multivariate regression modeling? Is there any chance you can make a video how to do the assumption testing, the SPSS technques and interpretation? Thank you and more power.

Hey, would doing single ANOVAS instead of a MANOVA do the trick? Or does MANOVA somehow create a linear or other combination of dependable variables and comapre that composite means for difrferent groups?

i dont know if anyone wil respon but can someone please tell me if this metjos can be applied when testing for relation between MBTI types and %s, GPAs and MDCAT scores ( i must tell that all the continous dpendent variables are recoreded as ranges i.e GPA 1.5-2.0, 2.5-3.0 etc, same for % and MDCAT scores so with this in mind will i have to use a different test?) pls pls help!!!!

In your first analysis with 2 levels of gender, why not just do a t-test? Am I missing something here?
