I live in northern VA and I ask myself the same question when I drive through Great Falls or take a drive on River Road in the Potomac. It's insane how much money so many people have in this area. Even the condos, townhomes and just normal housing is through the roof.

Until you live in a home like this, what you don't realize is how much maintenance is required and how insanely expensive it is. It's the same as owning a private jet or a Yacht. People who come into money too fast like rappers and lottery winners don't realize this and get themselves in a financial void. If you're gonna live this life in this kind of property, you better be 10x more wealthier than needed to do so.

It’s good to be happy for others success…..as we would expect others to be happy for us. I work in these sorts of piles, and you wouldn’t want to own them. They are constant maintenance….constant. I’ve enjoyed these houses more than the Owner in that, I’m there all day painting a ceiling, and they’re at work. I enjoy their house more than they do…without the expense. Make your own place as nice and clean as these houses. Nothing makes me happier then to reside in a simple two bedroom residence. These house are white elephants.

Lived nearby to a neighborhood like this in Mocounty md. One night my car had issues and a neighbor from that neighborhood stopped to help me. Long story short he actually worked in NY, maybe wallstreet or some high paying exec job. But he commuted between NY and Md every few days. But that particular neighborhood had surgeons, Dr. Judges, lawyers living there. Also the land origanlly belongd to a farmer who kept part of the farm way in the back of the development. So every so often when driving by of the road from afar, you could catch a glimpse of a cow or horse when driving by.

Potomac MD has always been the neighborhood of the ultra wealthy. A childhood friend of mine is a neurosurgeon and lives in Potomac. She is the sweetest kindest woman I have ever known and has both of her elderly parents with dementia living with her in her home so she can be sure they are being well cared for. She worked hard, did not come from a wealthy family, earned scholarships and grants to put herself through college and medical school. She deserves every wonderful thing she has, including her mansion in Potomac❤️
