World events are turning teaching on its head and as a result educators, faced with a lack of physical classrooms, are looking at how they can reach their students by using some sort of online platform. From the coursebook-specific sites through to platforms such as Google Classroom, and through asynchronous methods, teachers are to a able to consolidate and extend coursework to ensure learning can still take place. In the first of two sessions, we’ll explore what using such sites can offer a teacher. We’ll look at things we need to consider to ensure that when you start students on them, they feel a similar sense of community to that of the face-to-face classroom as well as what things we need to consider when setting up online tasks.
