Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Those MacGregor clubs may be the best value, but they're not when you also leave Costco with 2 paddle boards, a barbecue, and a garden shed you weren't planning on.

I would love to see a PGA Tournament where every player gets a box the morning of and that's what they all play.

I like that Rick reviews cheap package sets more often than anything from major brands at this point

Love living vicariously through Rick, especially with the Break75 series. Stage 4 cancer and a dozen or so abdominal surgeries hindered the turn on my swing a bit haha 😅. Keep it going RS and Guy as well 👍🏼

Sometimes you see these "package" sets that are like 600-700$ and you just absolutely know that the guy would've been better off going the used club route. With these, there's no way you can beat the value. They look nice, nothing's overly cheaply made. Good on Costco for furthering the accessibility of the game.

My dad retired from MacGregor in 1977 after 25 yrs. He worked in the custom grinds/finishing department with Howard Delaney and Jack Wolcotte. I've got about 50 different sets including 4 VIP drivers signed by Nicklaus, Weiskopf, Byron and Chi Chi. A 3wood signed by Bob Hope and several others that he obtained during his tenure.

I started watching you about 3 month ago and wow I'm into golf now big time. Iv only done 2 full 18 hole courses but I have done a fair few 18 hole par 3 courses and I managed to score my best round on the weekend 😀

I love that daily leaderboard concept at the driving range. I wish local ranges in my area had that.

I think you are doing a great service to enhance and expand the game of golf thru these videos on affordable equipment. Thank you, Rick!

My very first set of clubs, at 12 years old, were a full set of MacGregor Tommy Armour Tourney Classics that my Dad purchased from the local pro shop for $50. Turned out to be a very collectible set that I played for years until I brought them in for regripping and the golf shop owner made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Thanks for a nice review of entry level set of clubs and bringing back memories of my own first set...

Loved the last drive. Rick wasn't showing us the difference between his Ping and set package set. He simply couldn't have 276 on the leader board he need one over 300 yards. Second on the table for the day 🙂 Love this guy

as an intermediate golfer with a set or two, I still love these videos so that I know what to recommend for friends. I have given away a few sets, but these videos are great to pass along

I think it’s important for package sets to have a clear upgrade path. As you progress your game, you’ll start with replacing the driver and hybrid, and the rest of the set will be more than adequate while you piecemeal a better set. That’s much better than the whole set being equally bad, so you feel like it’s not worth it unless you drop the wallet on a completely new set all at once.

LOVE these reviews. I found a set of Ping i-3 O-Size at the thrift shop for $3 a club! 4-9 with a SW and gap wedge (U)! Lamkin grips still in good shape! Best deal of the year for this guy!

Don’t you think the 1.5 degrees difference in loft has a lot to do with the ball speed? Also is the top tracer there taking in account the elevation you’re hitting from?

Just a reference point. A 1970 magazine had an ad for a McGregor golf set. Three woods and 8 irons for $99.95. Given inflation the Costco price holds up pretty well.

Absolutely loving how Rick couldn't leave Trafford Golf Centre without making sure his name was in the Top 2 😂

I’m enjoying these budget reviews more than the big name ones at the moment.

Rick is as good as it gets. I really appreciate how he connects to golfers on all levels. He may be wrong on some things but it is never because of dishonesty.

Great video. I currently have the Kirkland Wedges from Costco but I feel like its time to upgrade. I would LOVE a video where you explain bounce and grind, what they are used for, and how to selct the best wedge based on your game/playing conditions.
