As a Russian, i'm very dissapointed that my country is so close-minded. I know that i would be a very homophobic person if i was raised in Russia. But i'm lucky that my parents moved to Belgium when I was 3. I'm grateful that Europe gave me an upbringing that has taught me to live life with an open mind because an open mind is a great step towards making this world a better place. Love knows no gender.

Fry was right: my mum was going to go to Russia.I showed her this and this country will never be visited by any of my family or friends until they start protecting gay people

Both make good points and bad points. But Fry's comments have not aged well. But he is 100% correct about Tchaikovsky. Being gay was pary of Tchaikovsky's music. Why is anyone surprised he was gay? He wrote ballets.
