I live in Indiana, where the winters are below freezing so I can’t keep her outside all year round unfortunately but I make it work!

Soil mix: my typical succulent mix is a combo of half succulent/cactus potting soil and half bonsai jack gravel.

💡indoors: If it’s growing too long and leggy, that tells you it’s not getting enough light. She can sit right underneath a grow light or your brightest window (at least 750 foot candles if measuring with a light meter) for at least four to six hours of direct sunlight a day.

Outdoors, she lives a space that gets direct sunlight for 2 hours a day but shade the rest of the time. It may also turn into a beautiful green/burgundy shade when sun stressed.

Wow this couldn't have come at a better time for me. My elderly neighbor just gave me her 30+ year jade plant because it's overgrown and too heavy for her to care for. I plan on repoting this weekend and separating to give her some of the plant back in a smaller pot but it's kind of intimidating, could definitely use the tips! Thank you so much girl! ❤ Will be looking out for you next vid :)

My family grows orchids and we use foam packing peanuts in the bottom of our pots for extra drainage and to avoid clumps clogging the drain holes

I've been watering my sweet lil jade plant on straight up intuition, and this video confirmed I've been doing okay! She's going strong, but definitely needs a repot!
