Yeah on Level 47, you have to Power up the Pokémon to Level 50 in the Level, If you do it in advance, it wont count

33:43 yes Meltans work for that task :)
I hit Level 49 last week and completed it with Meltans so I'm pretty sure

Thank you professor Zoe, however the instructions seemed to be unclear because my Meltan is now a Charmander. I must've missed a step, I shall investigate and get back to you with my notes

22:22 - The easiest one to get enough XL candy for is Meltan. Once you start earning XL at LVL 31, do Meltan boxes. Because it is a Mythical, you earn a base minimum of 3 per catch.

I can 100% confirm that I was able to use Meltan for the Legendary tasks. For level 41 I powered up some level 1 Meltan for a couple hundred stardust per power up. When the Meltan got to 400 dust per power up, I moved to another low level Meltan. (Powering up a legendary that you want to power up is even less of a stardust waste, but if you don't have anything you want to power up, L1 Pokemon are cheap power ups.) For level 47 it once again makes sense to look at Meltan/Melmetal. Using Pokemon Home it is easy to get a mystery box, so you can get all the candy and candy XL you could want. Having at least one level 50 Melmetal is handy for shadow battles, raids, or GBL. Catching 5 Meltan in a row is super easy for the level 50 legendary challenge. I completed that challenge only a few weeks ago, so I can confirm that it still worked as of Easter this year (2022).

It’s funny I just hit level 50 yesterday night with my last excellent throw on a shiny pikachu!! 😂

22:36 The best way to do this is by maxing out a pokemon to level 49.5 but you NEED to do the last power up to 50 at that level. It doesn't count even if you have 100 pokemon at level 50, you need to do at least the last power up at lvl 47. However, I would like to add one thing, powering up something to lvl 50 is a huge investment in terms of XLs and stardust. I don't think it is smart to spend 250, 000 stardust on a pikachu which is useless in PVP/PVE. I powered up a 100% talonflame (from community day), sableye and a 100% last resort umbreon, and all three of these are my MVPs in GBL in their respective leagues. Finally, for the level 50 task to battle a leader with cp 2500 pokemon or less, I would suggest practicing this for fun even before you reach this level. I remember trying this with the Cliff's aerodyctl and I failed at least 50 times and then I stopped counting. I was so happy when I was finally able to beat that line up with my triple melmetal team! Thanks for the awesome video Zoe! As someone who hit level 49 during go fest I wish XP grind was as easy and FUN as most (if not all) of these level up tasks (I mean 50 lucky trades; I HATE TRADING NOW MORE THAN EVER NOW).

Powered up my hundo Gyrados before level 47 tasks and it DID NOT give me credit for it. Meltan was the best option for this task because the XL candies were so much easier to get with the meltan box

Really good advice! Also note, with the buddy hearts you don't actually need a rocket balloon or stop available, you can use the training feature at the bottom of the battle screen to complete the battles at any time

I was stuck at level 48 to 49 for a LONG time. I moved to a new area and didn’t have any friends I could meet up with regularly. The lucky trades were KILLING ME. But I made a friend whom I was able to trade with on the daily. I focused my last platinum medal on trades and trade distance (I hatched a lot of Pokémon from my antipode location. 15, 000 km+ whenever I had an egg) because the rest were so much further off.
Finally hit level 49 a month before Go Fest and I hit level 50 during it. I worked like crazy to get Excellent throws and tagged my last Excellent throw (Bergmite) as he was the one to take me to level 50. Boo yeah.

This has been your best video, yet! Thanks!

You can power them up to 49.5 before the required step of maxing them out, and can also recommend purified pokemons as they are less resources to max out.

Then when you are on that step of maxing them out, you can do the last power up on them 3 pokemons to get them to level 50.

Have done this now on my own, my wife's and our 3 children's accounts. And now when even player below level 40 can get XL candy it's even easier to do it.

Additional tip: Meltan counts for Level 41’s “Power up a Legendary Pokémon 20 times” task

Guys, be lucky there have been changes to the level-up tasks. 25:08 it used to be 50km per week 8 times. The downside was eevees as Sylveon didn't count for not existing in the game yet.

These tips are awesome. Thanks Zoe. I'm currently level 42, and just grinding out xp now to level up. Man the xp takes forever!

Thank you for all the great tips. I’m working for level 50 now. Getting so much better with my excellent throws. I’m 1/2 there. Woohoo! I hope William is still doing better and Alan is doing well too. Good luck with your travels. ✨✨✨✨

22:22 you can prep a pokemon to lvl 49 but any Pokemon that is lvl 50 before hitting the level that the task will show up at will not count. It's like having all the eevee evolutions before doing the task and that doesn't register.

Just hit 46 today and was worried until I discovered 3 Meltans I can easily power up. Just need the stardust! Love you Zoë. 😊

Correction: for level 44, you don't need to win in gbl, you just need to battle. This was changed before it released worldwide. It was only win 20 for Australia while they were testing it
