Getting started with CPT: Cone Penetration Testing

CPT is a soil investigation technique to assess the soil behaviour, with a variety of geotechnical applications. In this video, we'll show you all the equipment to get started.

First is an electrical CPT system, which consists of the following components:
- A cone with measurement sensors
- Rods to push the cone deeper into the ground
- Transmission system, with wires or cables to transmit data from your cone to the data acquisition system on the surface
- A data acquisition system to collect the data

Secondly, the force to push into the ground. For this, you'll need a pusher.

And lastly, a carrier for your pusher, both for transportation and to act as a reaction force.
